Trip Route

Jill's departure date is coming up soon - September 30th - and the adventure will begin!

Dos Manos Travel Agency has found me a home-stay family for my first two weeks in Quito, Ecuador, where my days will be filled with Spanish and Salsa lessons and exploring the capital city. I am hoping that this introduction to Spanish will help us navigate our way through Ecuador, Bolivia and Chile.

I will be heading to Puyo, Ecuador for my third and fourth weeks where I will be spending my days with anteaters, monkeys and an array of birds - all of which have been re-captured from the exotic animal black market and are undergoing rehabilitation with the hopes of returning to the wild. I will try and keep my new language skills sharp, but don't expect any elaborate conversations. Below is the link to the volunteer project.

This will bring me to the end of October, and Ian will be joining me October 29th - back in Quito, Ecuador. Our plan is to tour around the area south of Quito, visiting places such as Cotopaxi National Park, Banos, Latacunga and other small villages before making our way south to Bolivia and Chile. A rough idea of our route is posted below in the link!
